Through the Northern Alliance Teaching School, we offer an NQT development programme which is designed to support, nurture and develop teachers in the first year of their career. Our 2018-19 programme aims to foster a collaborative network for NQTs across Oldham by creating a space where teaching and learning ideas can be shared, issues can be discussed, and new learning can be developed.
The programme will involve 6 twilight sessions across the year:
- Stepping into NQT year (workload and environment)
- Learning from other teachers
- Differentiation including EAL
- Assessment and Feedback
- Using Data
- Celebration and sharing of good practice
Each session will include a mini TeachMeet as a space for NQTs to share and learn from one another. The new learning will be led by two of our SLEs who are recognised for their experience in the given field. Refreshments will be provided.
